Reading done in 2007

December 24, 2007

I started maintaining an online reading list late this year. That’s why it’s so short. Let’s start off with some awards.

Best book: A fine balance, Rohinton Mistry

For it’s brutally honest potrayal of Indian life in all its squalor, corruption and bleakness.

Worst book: False impression, Jeffrey Archer

For it’s piss-poor grammar and weak plot. Me read – now stupidder

Book I wish I had read: Harry Potter and the deathly hallows by J. K. Rowling

The list

  1. Sons and lovers, D.H. Lawrence
  2. The inheritance of loss, Anita Desai
  3. False impression, Jeffrey Archer
  4. Angela’s Ashes : A memoir, Frank McCourt
  5. Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Harriet Beecher Stowe
  6. Autobiography of a yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda
  7. A fine balance, Rohinton Mistry (truly the India novel)
  8. Moneychangers, Arthur Hailey
  9. The final diagnosis, Arthur Hailey
